WatchTower Lands $1M Transit Contract to Keep Buses on the Road

We’re excited to announce a major milestone: WatchTower, formerly known as Preteckt, has secured over $1 million in new contracts, including a landmark deal with the Société de transport de l’Outaouais (STO), the public transit agency serving Ottawa-Gatineau.

STO is partnering with WatchTower to leverage artificial intelligence and predictive maintenance to keep their bus fleet on the road, reduce breakdowns, and improve service reliability for thousands of daily riders.

Why This Matters

For decades, the industry has been reactive. We fix it when it breaks. WatchTower flips that script. By monitoring vehicles 24/7 and applying AI-driven insights, WatchTower predicts failures before they happen and delivers a repair plan directly to technicians. The result:

  • Less downtime
  • Lower operating costs
  • Improved passenger experience

This is the future of fleet maintenance, and STO is leading the way.

From Preteckt to WatchTower

Earlier this year, Diesel Laptops acquired Preteckt and rebranded it as WatchTower, aligning the technology with our mission to deliver the Diesel Difference: complete solutions that empower fleets and repair shops to stay productive, profitable, and ahead of the curve.

With WatchTower, Diesel Laptops now delivers this solution in two flavors:

  • 24/7 remote vehicle monitoring with instant repair information on fault codes
  • 24/7 remote vehicle monitoring with AI-powered predictive maintenance and diesel technician provided repair plans

Just the Beginning

Closing $1M in contracts is an incredible start, but it’s only the beginning. Fleets across North America are searching for smarter ways to manage uptime. WatchTower is here to answer that call and this contract with STO proves the demand is real.

We’re proud of the WatchTower team and excited to watch them keep building momentum. The road ahead is wide open.
